The Tip Calculator calculates a tip from the bill amount and percentage, then divides the total by the number of people. Use the quick percentage buttons or enter a custom rate. Review the tip amount, total, and equal share before paying.

The quick buttons select 10%, 15%, 20%, or 25%. The Tip Percentage (%) field accepts a custom rate, such as 18.5%. These choices are calculation inputs, not rules about how much to tip in every location.
The calculator makes an equal split. If one guest is not paying, enter the number of paying people. For a group of n with one guest excluded, that count is n − 1; enter the resulting number, not the expression.
An equal split may not suit a group with different orders. Agree on the method first, then use individual subtotals if people need different shares.
Amounts are displayed to two decimal places. When collecting separate payments, check that the rounded shares cover the total. Keep all inputs in the same currency; this calculator does not convert an amount just because it is used while traveling.
The decimal shortcut "move the decimal one place to get 10%, then double for 20%" is useful for a quick check. For a bill like 87.43 split across five people with an 18% tip, use the entered values and review the rounded result.
Customs and service charges vary by place and service. Check local expectations and the bill rather than treating a preset as a universal standard. The calculator shows the result of a rate you choose; it does not determine what is owed under a service agreement.
